About
The company behind RootTrace
RootTrace is built and operated by ByteAffinity LLC, a US software company in Hopewell, New Jersey. We make one thing: an AI incident intelligence platform that tells you why production broke, without ever touching production. This page is who we are and why you can build on us.
Who builds it
RootTrace is founder-led and US-based. ByteAffinity LLC is a registered New Jersey company, and you reach real people: email is answered the same business day, and the phone number below takes a call or a text. There is no offshore support queue and no sales funnel between you and an engineer. When you have a question about the product, an engineer answers it.
Built so you're never locked in
You should be able to commit to a tool without being trapped by it. We put that in the architecture, not in a promise:
- Your install runs on your terms. The full platform (API, dashboard, and AI) can run on your own infrastructure, or in our cloud. The self-hosted license is a signed token verified offline; there is no activation server to call and no usage to report.
- Leaving is a one-step decision. Postmortems export to Markdown and PDF, your whole workspace configuration exports as a portable file, and every collector key is revocable in one click. Nothing holds you hostage, which is exactly why you can commit.
- It can't break what it watches. The collector is read-only by architecture: no write path, no remediation executor, no privileged mode. Even in the worst case, the blast radius on your production is zero.
How we work
We would rather under-claim than oversell. The value claims on our homepage come from shipped product behavior or a clearly labeled published benchmark, with the source attached; the security page states plainly what we do and do not yet have. AI recommends with evidence and never executes; a human approves every change. That posture is deliberate: an incident-intelligence tool is only useful if you trust what it tells you, and trust is earned by being right and being honest, not by being loud.
Security & trust
Security is a first-class part of the product, not an afterthought: a read-only collector with zero inbound ports, MFA and role-based access, a workspace audit trail, tenant isolation, and AI that keeps your incident memory on infrastructure you control. The full picture is on the security section of our homepage. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request, and security questions or vendor questionnaires go to security@roottrace.io; you'll talk to an engineer, not a funnel.
